If Portraits Could Talk

Saturday, March 18, 11:00 AM
$25 General Admission / $15 PAFA Member

If the portraits could talk what would they say? Katerina Romanenko will guide participants through the Portraiture Galleries in Making American Artists: Stories from PAFA, 1776 - 1976. We will learn tools that will help us "read" portraiture and use the artworks as a springboard into a more in-depth conversation about our changing identity and aspirations, about stereotypes and self-expression, about artistic freedom and the patron's intent, as well as about the interconnection between art, culture, economy, and politics. Participants will enhance their skills in visual and art historical analysis deepening their appreciation and enjoyment of portraiture genre.

Registration includes the entrance fee to PAFA's Museum.
