Points of View Speaker Series: Chuck Close Photographs with Terrie SultaN

Saturday, January 20th, 2 p.m.
Historic Landmark Building
$15 General Admission / Free to PAFA members

Join Terrie Sultan, Director of the Parrish Art Museum and co-curator of Chuck Close Photographs for an illustrated lecture exploring Close’s long engagement with the medium of photography.  While Close is known primarily as a painter, Sultan will explore how one of the most important figures in contemporary art has stretched the boundaries of photographic means, methods, and approaches for more than 40 years, revealing  the range of the artist’s exploration of photography—from early black and white maquettes, to monumental composite Polaroids, to intimately scaled daguerreotypes, and the most recent Polaroid nudes.

This talk offered in conjunction with the exhibition Chuck Close Photographs.

Pre-Registration for this event is now closed. Spots for the lecture are still available on a first come first serve basis.
