Lauren Frances Adams is a painter who lives and works in Baltimore. She earned her BFA at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and her MFA at Carnegie Mellon University. Her work engages political and social histories through iconic images and domestic ornament. Lauren teaches full-time in the painting department at the Maryland Institute College of Art.

This student-run program brings an outstanding roster of local, national and international artists to PAFA each semester for lectures, critiques, and workshops. The program exposes students and the public to a range of artistic approaches and fosters discussion about contemporary art and ideas.
