Educator’s Workshop: Connecting Historic and Contemporary Art

 Saturday, March 16th 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Historic Landmark Building

$10 Per Educator

Using PAFA’s historic collection of American art and the exhibition Rina Banerjee: Make Me a Summary of the World, teachers will learn new techniques to help students compare and contrast historic and contemporary art. The Museum Education team will facilitate discussions geared towards juxtaposing paintings, sculptures, large-scale installations and works on paper in order to understand important themes that connect different forms of visual art. Educators will have the opportunity to explore sample lesson plans and collaborate to create essential questions to engage students with this important and relevant material in schools and on field trips. Participants receive 3 hours of Act 48 Credit/New Jersey PD Credit. Lunch will also be provided.
