PAFA Member Tour of We Speak: Black Artists in Philadelphia

Woodmere Art Museum, Chestnut Hill

Thursday, November 5, 2 - 3 p.m.

PAFA is pleased to partner with Woodmere Art Museum to offer a special tour for PAFA members of the exhibition, We Speak: Black Artists in Philadelphia. We Speak examines the role that Philadelphia art institutions played in the lives of African American artists from the 1920s - 1970s.

It features many artists who worked in an abstract style including Benjamin Britt, Moe Brooker, Barbara Bullock, Reginald Gammond, Paul Keene, and Charles Pridgen, among other artists working in a variety of modes. Focusing on these contemporaries of the abstract expressionist, Norman Lewis, this tour will serve as an insightful precursor to PAFA's upcoming exhibition, Procession: The Art of Norman Lewis.
